This painting explores possibilities that exist beyond binary gender identities. As individuals discover and embrace their own authentic and diverse expressions of gender, many things are possible outside the existing male/female gender "norms." 

The pregnant partner in this painting depicts a trans man who has not had a full surgical phase of gender transition and is now carrying the child of his loving partner. The artist has purposefully integrated together strong pinks and blues, often associated with a baby girl or boy, to represent the many possible expressions of gender beyond the binary.
